3. S Malik Hooker

This player did not play much in 2020 but is still a young piece that could thrive on the Chargers.

Malik Hooker has had a very up and down career with the Colts. He’s had two pretty good years with the team, and two in which he had season-ending injuries. One injury his rookie season and one just this last season in 2020. This last season, Hooker only played in two games and had his season ended by a torn Achilles tendon. This probably is a big factor in him being picked up.

Throughout his career, Hooker has started in 35 games and played in 36. He has had a combined total of 124 tackles, 11 pass deflections, and seven interceptions. These being pretty good stats for someone who’s played in just over half the games he should’ve during his four-year career.

This signing would be pretty good as Hooker is young, and has a lot of talent. Pairing him with Derwin James would be deadly. While both play the free safety position, James is very flexible, and both are young and can develop to play anywhere on the field. Brandon Staley and Renaldo Hill could have a lot of fun with a healthy Malik Hooker on this roster.
