LA Chargers that need to step up Bryan Bulaga
This player was a big offseason acquisition just before the 2020 season, though his mediocre season needs to be improved for the sake of Herbert and the team’s Super Bowl chances.
Bryan Bulaga throughout the 2020 season had dealt with many injuries, which caused him to miss most of the season. Bulaga only started in 38% of available offensive snaps during the season. The second-lowest in his career just above the 22% in 2017.
This last season saw Bulaga start and play in 10 games. This is surprising considering how low his percentage of starts during his available starts were. It was also very close to his lowest mark during the 2017 season, where the offensive tackle only started and played in five games during that season.
Injuries were a big part of why Bulaga’s first season with the Bolts was not the best. The Chargers are going to need him if they want a shot at that Super Bowl. It will also be important for him to be a great veteran for rookie Rashawn Slater. Hopefully, if Bulaga can stay healthy, Herbert will look to have some great protection on the edges for him in the 2021 season.
