LA Chargers 53-man roster predictions, quarterbacks:

  1. Justin Herbert
  2. Chase Daniel
  3. Easton Stick

Justin Herbert is the face of this franchise and he is going to have an interesting quarterback room behind him. Easton Stick will enter his second season sharing a quarterback room with Herbert and much like last season, the Chargers should have three active quarterbacks with veteran Chase Daniel.

It is totally fair to critique the decision to have three active quarterbacks on the roster but it is not a super uncommon practice, and quite frankly, does not have as big of an impact as some people like to believe.

Yes, it is using an extra roster spot, but that extra roster spot would have gone to the absolute last guy who probably would not have played any snaps as it is.

Herbert needs a veteran to help guide him as he continues to evolve as a quarterback. The Chargers will implement an entirely new offensive scheme and having someone who has spent plenty of time in the league and can read defenses is going to be huge for Herbert’s progression.

Plus, Easton Stick just is not that good. I hated the selection when the team made it and it still does not make much sense to me. Perhaps they plan on using him in a Taysom Hill role, which explains his use for this team, but still might not even be a good idea.
