LA Chargers: 4 players who will benefit the most from a strong draft

2. Derwin James
The first hope is that Derwin James can get fully healthy and avoid another injury this season. Fans hate to hear it but James absolutely deserves the injury-prone tag and the hope is that he does not turn into another Jason Verrett for the team.
Assuming he is healthy and is playing, James should benefit greatly from this draft class. First of all, James is getting a genius defensive mind that did great things with less talented safeties on the Los Angeles Rams.
Just imagine what he can do with James and his versatility.
James should be helped by this draft class as well. If all goes as planned, the Chargers will land a notable outside cornerback who can play alongside Chris Harris and Michael Davis. That will naturally make James’ life easier.
The team is also going to take a safety in the draft as well. The depth of the position is thin and Brandon Staley utilized three safeties in his defense with the Rams. This will allow James to really highlight his versatility and ability to play in the box and at the line of scrimmage.
With proper health, more help, and Staley’s defensive schemes, we could see James return to the All-Pro team.
