Second-round tackle options for the LA Chargers: 3. Liam Eichenberg, OT, Notre Dame

Eichenberg has the ideal height of an NFL left tackle, standing at 6’6″ and weighing 306 lbs. He might not be considered an elite athlete but he does have good technique and could be an option to start at left tackle for the Chargers from day one.

He brings good pop with his hands, plenty of experience playing against top collegiate talent and good size. His pass sets and footwork are consistent and smooth. He is dominant in the run game but does lack lateral mobility and athleticism overall.

His lack of athleticism, short arms and the number of quality offensive linemen in this class could result in him dropping into the second round, but he could sneak his way into the first with tackle being such a premium position.

Notre Dame is constantly putting out quality offensive linemen and with Tom Telesco’s fascination with Notre Dame players, Eichenberg will definitely be in consideration if he is available at 47.
