The LA Chargers‘ activity in free agency has given us a glimpse into what the team may do in the 2021 NFL Draft. In particular, with the biggest signings coming of the offensive variety, the Chargers may heavily address the defensive side of the ball in the 2021 NFL Draft.

It makes sense. The team already has its pillars set in the offense and just hired a young defensive-minded head coach. The intent it for Staley to coach with the Bolts as long as he is an NFL coach, and going with young defensive prospects can help him build and mold his long-lasting defensive vision.

That is what this LA Chargers mock draft is focusing on.

While it is fun to speculate about taking a receiver in the first round, the LA Chargers need to focus on the defensive side of the football in this draft. There are simply too many holes to not do that.

That does not mean that the Chargers won’t take any offensive pieces, but this Chargers mock draft is heavily favored towards the defensive side of the ball. Spoiler alert: we took just two offensive players in this Chargers mock draft.

To orchestrate this mock draft we used The Draft Network’s Mock Draft Machine. Let’s get into it.
