The LA Chargers currently have three running backs on the roster but have a need for another. Austin Ekeler, Justin Jackson and Joshua Kelley make up the running back room and while Ekeler is great, this room is thin.
Justin Jackson cannot stay healthy and at this point the team has to prepare for him to be hurt. Joshua Kelley is entering his second season after being one of the worst running backs in the league in 2020. He could get better but it is far from a guarantee.
Not only does the team need depth, but the Bolts could look to bring in a running back to create a 1-2 punch with Ekeler. New offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi experienced something very similar in New Orleans with Alvin Kamara pairing with both Mark Ingram and then Latavius Murray.
It is far from the biggest roster need, but the LA Chargers could certainly use a running back.
