Scotty Miller is a Super Bowl champion after just two years in the NFL. Miller was not a big factor in Tampa Bay’s offense in his first season but he blossomed into a big deep-ball target for Tom Brady in year two.
In 2020 Miller finished with 501 receiving yards and three touchdowns. He averaged 15.2 yards per reception and had one of the biggest receptions of the entire season for Tampa Bay.
With one second remaining in the first half of the NFC Championship, Miller caught a 39-yard touchdown pass from Tom Brady that gave the Buccaneers a 21-10 halftime lead. This was massive for the Bucs, as Aaron Rodgers was intercepted shortly prior and the Bucs were able to capitalize.
It is plays like this that can decide the game. While anything could have happened after that, without this touchdown, Miller may not have his Super Bowl ring.
Miller on the Chargers would have been interesting. He may not have played a big role in 2019 with Mike Williams being Philip Rivers’ main deep threat but with Justin Herbert under center Miller could have done damage in the slot.
I would not say that Miller is that much better than Tyron Johnson but the receiving depth would have been incredible with Miller.
