Honorable mention: The Chargers’ last win at Qualcomm Stadium

Here is an honorable mention before getting to the no. 1 moment.

The 2016 season was not a very pleasant experience for Charger fans, as the front office had a foot out the door to LA and the team struggled to win games on the field. All this was forgotten for a few hours on the afternoon of November 6th, 2016.

The Chargers hosted the Tennessee Titans in what turned out to be a very entertaining game. The Bolts won a 43-35 shootout as RB Melvin Gordon had a breakout game, rushing for 196 yards and a touchdown.

The win was sealed with a Brandon Flowers pick-6 of Titans QB Marcus Mariota in the fourth quarter. The teams combined for almost 900 yards of offense and 78 points. Rivers threw for 275 yards and two touchdowns, and the receiving trio of Antonio Gates, Tyrell Williams, and Dontrelle Inman all had at least five catches.

Rivers and Gates connected on a touchdown pass in the third quarter, which was the 81st time those two would connect for a touchdown. This would end up being the Chargers’ final win at Qualcomm Stadium, but getting a win in front of their best fan turnout of the year wearing the powder blue uniforms was a good way to go out given the circumstances.
