2. EDGE

The LA Chargers are going to need to bring in either a defensive end if they are playing a 4-3 defense, or more likely, are going to need to bring in someone who can play outside linebacker if the team changes to a 3-4 defense. The need for an outside linebacker is fairly significant if they do switch to a 3-4 defense.

This is another position that the Chargers could target in the draft and they still might draft an edge rusher if they sign someone in free agency. However, with the team likely taking a corner in round two, that opens the door to spend more for a premier outside linebacker.

It is also worth mentioning that there are more options that are worth spending on at outside linebacker. When it comes to corners teams often overpay for the name and the experience. There are outside linebackers who are not over the age of 30 and are still playing at their highest level.

Leonard Floyd is an intriguing option because of the connection to Staley and his ability to help in all three phases at outside linebacker.

K.J. Wright is another intriguing option that will not be as expensive as Floyd but is probably going to cost more than Davis will for the Chargers.
