Potential third-round target for the LA Chargers: Seth Williams
The last name on the jersey would stay the same so maybe Charger fans would not even notice? Seth Williams is another vertical threat receiver that would replace the dynamic that Mike Williams brings into the offense.
If the Chargers get rid of Mike Williams then they are going to have to bring in someone who profiles to be similar, which narrows down the options. Seth Williams is ranked as the 89th overall prospect and is more realistic as a third-round pick for the Chargers.
Williams is not quite as tall as the current Chargers’ wideout — standing in at six-two — but he possesses the same similar skillset in making contested catches. Williams has excellent hands and may even be better as a short-yardage option one he fully progresses as well.
Williams built on a solid sophomore season with a good junior season as well. In 11 games with the Auburn Tigers, Williams caught 47 passes for 760 yards and four touchdowns.
Williams is far from the perfect wide receiver target but him going to the Chargers would do wonders for his career. Not only would he be getting an exceptional quarterback in Justin Herbert, but he could improve the areas of his game that need the most help, such as his route-running, simply by playing alongside and practicing with Keenan Allen.
