LA Chargers: 4 possible AFC West free agents to target

Potential LA Chargers AFC West target: Byron Pringle

This last player is kind of a random choice, but would be a good fit if the Chargers were looking for a kick/punt returner.

While Byron Pringle didn’t have a good season as a wide receiver, he was excellent as a kick returner. Pringle has 10 kick returns throughout the whole season. All of those returns accumulated 324 yards, which in total averages 32.4 yards per return. He was also named AFC West Special Teams Player of the Week in Week 7.

During the Super Bowl, Pringle had three total returns for 87 yards. This means he averaged 29 yards per return. Signing Pringle would significantly help out the Chargers kick return game. In total, the Chargers only averaged 22 yards per return, which is less than just taking a knee in the end zone.

I know that the Chargers have young Joe Reed and Nassir Adderley, who did pretty well in the kick return game in the second half of the season.

I personally think that Pringle would sign on a small deal as he is usually only used as a special teams player. This signing is a little random, but would help out the kick return game significantly.
