Potential LA Chargers AFC West target: Tim Patrick

With the uncertainty of Mike Williams’ future with the Chargers, this could be a solid addition to the wide receiver corps.

Tim Patrick had a pretty decent season with the Broncos this last year. Over the course of the season, Patrick had 51 catches, 742 receiving yards, and 6 receiving touchdowns. All of these statistics happening in the span of 15 games. While on the other hand, Williams had a similar season with 48 catches, 756 yards, and 5 receiving touchdowns.

This signing could come down to what the Chargers do with Mike Williams. If they decided to trade him because of the cap space, Patrick could be a decent replacement for the next football season.

Patrick is also only one year older than Williams so age wouldn’t be a problem for the possible long term. If they don’t trade him, I could see the Chargers taking a wide receiver in the later rounds.

Overall, it would be almost impossible to replace the production and play-making ability of Mike Williams. If the Chargers resign/extend Williams, I don’t think anyone would be mad about that. No matter what the Chargers end up doing, Mike Williams will be a hard one to replace.
