2. The LA Chargers’ lone playoff win with Anthony Lynn, 2018 playoffs
The LA Chargers made the playoffs one time in four years with Anthony Lynn at the helm and were able to get a playoff win under their belt. The Chargers took on the red-hot Baltimore Ravens in the AFC Wild Card Round and many were hyping the Ravens up as 2018’s dark horse.
This was before Lamar Jackson’s MVP season and at this point we had a limited sample size on what he could do. However, Baltimore ended the season winning six of their last seven games, including a 22-10 shellacking against the Chargers just two weeks prior.
The Chargers killed that hype train in the first round with a mixture of efficient offensive football and a defensive gameplan that really flustered Lamar. The Chargers brought so much pressure on Lamar that he really could not get cooking until late in the game when the Bolts were up multiple possessions.
Of course, the game ended up coming down to the wire (typical Anthony Lynn fashion) as the Chargers played not to lose and let the Ravens creep back into the game.
The Ravens had one last chance to drive down the field and score a touchdown, albeit it was a slim chance with less than a minute remaining and no timeouts. Baltimore got to midfield before Uchenna Nwosu made the best play of his young career thus far, stripping Lamar Jackson to secure the win.
