3. Comeback win against the Pittsburgh Steelers on primetime, 2018

In Week 13 of the 2018 season, the LA Chargers were flexed into the Sunday Night Football for their matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers. It marked the first time in over four years that the Chargers would be playing on Sunday Night Football.

Both teams were among the best in the league at the time and this matchup was a very enticing one, with many wondering if the Chargers were the real deal. It turned out that they absolutely were the real deal.

The Steelers dominated this game in the first half and many pessimistic Charger fans, like myself, thought that there was no way that the Chargers would get back in this game. However, the second half was completely dominated by the Bolts, thanks in part to two big contributors.

Desmond King injected new energy into the team with a punt-return touchdown and Justin Jackson had his official arrival, carrying the ball really well in the second half in a game where the Chargers were without both Melvin Gordon and Austin Ekeler.

It took Michael Badgley three tries to make the game-winning field goal (because of Steelers’ offsides penalties) but he got the job done and the 2018 Chargers announced on national television that they were the real deal.
