2. Michael Davis
Michael Davis has had some solid showings this season for the LA Chargers but he has also had some not-so-great showings. These last five games are going to be important for Davis as it will establish his market value as well as the direction the team goes at the cornerback position.
Davis is a free agent after this season with no guarantee of returning to the Chargers. However, with Casey Hayward’s disappointing season and with him and Chris Harris not getting any younger, Davis very well could factor in to be a big part of this secondary moving forward.
Davis does bring something to the Chargers that is not present with the other cornerbacks and that is blistering speed. Davis is one of the fastest players on the Chargers and while he is not an elite corner, he is better to put on guys like Tyreek Hill to help keep him at bay.
If last week was any indication then Michael Davis should be able to finish on a strong note. He had a pretty solid day against the Buffalo Bills, even intercepting Josh Allen for his second pick of the season.
Davis only covered Diggs on Sunday (although Diggs did get other chances against other corners) and absolutely locked him down. Diggs was targeted five times while Davis covered him, only completing three receptions for 17 yards.
