Cornerbacks and Michael Davis

After trading Desmond King before the deadline, the cornerback position is looking very thin. Especially with stat corners Casey Hayward getting older and Chris Harris Jr. not only getting older but is injured, this position is going to be a big priority in the offseason. One key player in that position the Chargers need to succeed in the last leg of this season is Michael Davis.

Since the start of the season, Michael Davis has been very all over the place in his time with the Chargers. Many plays will see Davis either blow the coverage or make a really nice play. He may be inconsistent at times but is a bright spot for this secondary.

The only 26-year old corner so far this season Davis has one interception, 41 tackles and seven pass deflections on the season.

The only problem being that Davis is a free agent at the end of the season. It will be interesting to see if the Chargers will give Davis another contract and keep him on the team for the foreseeable future.

Hopefully, Michael Davis can prosper at the end of the season and we can see him improve more and more for this Chargers defense.
