3. Devin Singletary and Zack Moss repeat their efforts put on display vs. New England
Ironically enough, the Buffalo Bills are not that big of a running team — at least when it comes to the running backs. They run the ball a decent amount with Josh Allen, which boosts the running numbers, but they do not call on Devin Singletary and Zack Moss as much as you would think.
Singletary and Moss have a combined 131 carries this season. For comparison’s sake, the running back room of Joshua Kelley, Austin Ekeler, Justin Jackson, Kalen Ballage and Troymaine Pope have a combined 259 carries this season — almost twice that of Singletary and Moss.
However, they have had some pretty big games and their best game came against the New England Patriots. Singletary and Moss carried the football a combined 28 times for 167 yards and two touchdowns (both via Moss).
The Bills’ coaching staff is really good at playing to the other team’s weakness, something we saw when they practically completed ditched the run against the Seattle Seahawks. They will do the same this Sunday and the Chargers’ run defense will be exposed.
The Chargers’ run defense has been pretty woeful in recent weeks and the Bills have the guys to continually expose it for big first down runs. They are going to set the table nicely for Allen, which will lead to the big scoring day that we already mentioned.
They might not quite get to the numbers that they put up against New England but it is going to be close.
