1. T.J. Weist

T.J. Weist was a long-time college football coach that finally got his chance in the NFL with the Baltimore Ravens and that is the reason why he should be the number one name on the LA Chargers’ wishlist.

Weist is currently an assistant special teams coach on the Ravens, who happen to have the best special teams unit in the league. It is deeper than just having Justin Tucker as well as the Ravens rank first in special teams DVOA.

John Harbaugh started as a special teams coach and that has carried over into his head coaching job. The Ravens do everything the right way on special teams and while Weist did not help build that, as he just got the job last season, his experience on this coaching staff makes him extremely valuable.

Plus, it is not like Weist is a brand-new coach that is not ready to take on the role of being a coordinator in the NFL. He has been coaching at the college level since 1988.

Weist has witnessed firsthand how to cleanly operate the special teams unit from the best in the business and he could translate that over to the LA Chargers as the special teams coordinator.
