The LA Chargers lost a game in Week 3 that they should have won against the Carolina Panthers.

We have been here before. After a really good game against the Kansas City Chiefs in which the LA Chargers fell just short, the team responded by beating themselves against a lesser foe, losing to the Carolina Panthers 21-16.

Sorry to any Panther fans that are potentially reading this, but the Chargers are the more talented team. We saw that on display in this game. However, the team could not get out of its own way and lost in typical Charger fashion.

It was a disappointing loss. Hopefully, it is the most disappointing of the season. Here are the most disappointing players from the game.

1. Joshua Kelley

Joshua Kelley was not outright bad in this game and I do want to shy away from expecting too much out of the rookie back in just his third career start. However, the one mistake that he did make proved to be very costly.

Kelley could not hang onto the ball at the tail end of an 18-yard run in the first half, fumbling to kill the Chargers momentum and give the ball back to the Panthers. What makes it worse is the fact that Kelley was known for his sure hands and ability to protect the ball with UCLA.

He did carry the ball eight times for 43 yards, so he was efficient while he was out there, but that fumble proved costly for the Chargers and ultimately turned into the Panthers’ lone touchdown of the game.
