2. Trai Turner
Trai Turner started his first game for the LA Chargers in Week 2 and he looked like someone who did not get to play in Week 1 and did not get a traditional preseason. Turner was not very good in this game, although there is now plenty of room to grow.
Turner was one of the premier acquisitions by Tom Telesco this offseason and really kicked off what was a busy offseaosn for the Chargers. The Bolts traded left tackle Russell Okung for Turner, who was viewed to be a huge upgrade on the inside.
Despite being a Pro Bowler last season, Turner was actually coming off of one of the worst seasons of his career and he definitely did not deserve the Pro Bowl odd. He continued that trend in Week 2.
Turner actually had the lowest offensive grade for the Chargers in Week 2 on Pro Football Focus. There definitely were some highlights from Turner’s play, but Chris Jones had his way with Turner for most of the game, which is not ideal moving forward.
Again, it is only Week 2 and it is just his first game as a Charger. While we can easily get caught up in the positives and mistake that for a great game, we have to be realistic. Turner was not great on Sunday.
