2. Joe Gaziano

Joe Gaziano was an undrafted free agent that the LA Chargers brought in after the 2020 NFL Draft that was absolutely negatively impacted by there not being a preseason this year. With a preseason, Gaziano could have made enough of an impact to earn a roster spot on the LA Chargers.

Gaziano was not a remarkable draft prospect but he was someone that probably should have been taken in the draft. He put together a really solid collegiate career at Northwestern and could have been a smart developmental defensive end for any NFL team.

Gaziano recorded 30 sacks and 49 tackles for loss in his four seasons with Northwestern while also forcing eight fumbles in his last three seasons. He redshirted as a freshman as well, so he was a year longer in his development.

Many assumed that Gaziano would be a lock for the practice squad, especially with not that much depth at defensive end (unless the team uses Jerry Tillery there, which is possible).

At the end of the day, as previously mentioned, Gaziano was simply someone who was hurt from not having any game action and was probably one of the last players cut as a result.

Gaziano has not been picked up by any team at the time of writing this.
