1. Andre Patton
Andre Patton was one of the initial cuts that trimmed the roster down to 80 players before camp even began. Now, looking at the situation at wide receiver, I am not entirely sure why the Chargers would cut him so soon in the process.
I get that he has some bad tape on him and he definitely is not some massive game-changer. However, he has three things that would have made him valuable as a depth receiver for the Bolts.
First, he is fast. Really fast. Second, he has familiarity with the team, something that has taken precedence time and time again throughout camp. Third, he is a serviceable blocker, which is something that the Chargers really value in wide receviers.
He is not going to go somewhere else and light up the world, but I probably would still have liked Patton over someone like Jason Moore.
Patton was picked up by the Arizona Cardinals after being released by the Chargers but was cut during the weekend. He is on their practice squad.
