LA Chargers 53-man roster prediction, defensive line:
- Linval Joseph
- Jerry Tillery
- Justin Jones
- Damion Square
The LA Chargers have four defensive tackles worth making the roster in 2020 and this group has the potential to be really really good or to disappoint. Stopping the run is the one thing that the defense still has not completely figured out and getting solid production from the defensive tackles could flip that.
The biggest x-factor here is Jerry Tillery, who has the potential to be great but was really disappointing in his rookie season with the Bolts. If he is the beast that we know he can be in his second year then this is a fantastic outlook for the defensive line.
If not, there is nothing wrong with Justin Jones and Damion Square as rotational run-stuffers, albeit a breakout Tillery would be better.
- Joey Bosa
- Melvin Ingram
- Uchenna Nwosu
- Isaac Rochell
Joey Bosa and Melvin Ingram make up one of the best pass-rushing duos in the league and those behind them do not really even matter that much, although it is important to have them for depth purposes.
Luckily for the Chargers, the team actually has two really good back-up edge rushers in Uchenna Nwosu and Isaac Rochell. Both are probably over-qualified to be backups and Nwosu specifically would be a starter on some teams as a run-stuffing end.
