From the Tennessee Titans, the LA Chargers steal…

DaQuan Jones, DT

There are some exciting players that we could steal from the Titans in this situation that just would not work for the LA Chargers.

Derrick Henry was the most dominant runner in football down the stretch last season but the team does not need another running back. Kevin Byard would create a really fun dynamic alongside Derwin James but the Chargers are already two-deep at free safety.

There are other solid players that were considered but the one player that stuck out as someone who would help an area of need on the Chargers is DaQuan Jones. Jones is not a stat sheet stuffer in the slightest, but he is a really solid defensive tackle that would give the Chargers a great outlook in stopping the run.

Jones makes his money as a solid run defending anchor in the middle of the defensive line. He finished last season with a 77.2 rating on PFF and was actually the team’s highest-graded player through November.

Jones does not get to the quarterback much and would not be used in dedicated passing downs as the team could role Jerry Tillery out in those situations to get to the quarterback. Heck, in his six-year career he only has seven sacks.

Next. Reasons for and against a Desmond King trade

But he would help the team stop the one thing that has killed them in the past: the run game. That would be huge for the Chargers defensively, as they are already set up to stop the pass without much of a problem.
