How the LA Chargers can beat the Buffalo Bills: Get constant pressure on Josh Allen
This is going to be a tough game for the LA Chargers. While the Bills have had the stigma of being one of the worst teams in the league for a long time, that has shifted in recent years. This is a team with a really solid defense, a serviceable offensive line and weapons around Josh Allen that could make some noise.
The only thing that I am still not completely sold on with the Bills is Allen himself. He has a rocket arm and can make big plays but he is still green, can force some throws at times and against a good defense, like the Chargers, he struggles.
The way I envision the Chargers winning this game is the same way that they beat the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC Divisional Round. The team is going to run a lot of nickel and dime packages, put their fastest players out on the field and fly around to keep up with the solid receiving corps but to also get pressure on Allen.
The team has to play this style of defense against the Bills and if they can simply limit the running game and then pressure Allen and not allow him to scramble, they can turn this game into a closely-contested dog fight.
On offense, it is going to be a run-heavy game. I don’t love Tyrod Taylor or Justin Herbert against a secondary like this and while Keenan Allen is bound to get open at times, this game, more than any, is going to showcase the different style of offense that the Chargers are implementing.
This is a really tough matchup and it definitely is a game that the Chargers can lose and will be the underdog in.
