Isaiah Simmons, DB/LB, Clemson

  • 40-Yard Dash– 4.39 (1st)
  • Vertical Jump-39 inches (Tied for 3rd)
  • Broad Jump-132 inches (2nd)

Isaiah Simmons worked out with the linebackers this past weekend. While he only participated in a few drills during the Combine, he finished in the top three in all of them. He finished with the fastest 40-yard dash time, second in the broad jump and tied for third in the vertical jump. It is amazing for someone of his size to be able to move that fast.

We already knew that Simmons was one of the most exciting and versatile players in the upcoming draft, but his Combine ensured us that he will be something special. Pairing Simmons with Derwin James and the rest of the young core on the Chargers defense would be a nightmare for opposing offenses.

Lance Zierlein gives Simmons a 7.08 prospect grade, which says he is a Pro Bowl-caliber player. Simmons is rising on draft boards and could be taken as high as third to the Detroit Lions, who are in need of a player like Simmons.
