Number 9

Jameis Winston

Jameis Winston is another interesting candidate. He is coming off a statistically weird year. He threw for an astounding 5,100 yards but unfortunately threw a whopping 30 interceptions. Now that interception count is good enough to land Jameis in the top 15 of most interceptions thrown in a single season, but he says he has combated this by getting Lasik eye surgery.

Winston has shown he has a good arm and the talent to throw the ball down the field but there are always questions about his accuracy. Sometimes missing the mark completely and throwing it to the opposing team straight up with no contest.

Also, throwing for 5,100 yards might cause him to believe that his value has gone up tremendously and there are reports that he is demanding a contract of very high value ($30 million + per year).

Due to those reasons, I also think it is unlikely that the Chargers pursue him for the future quarterback role.

It is more likely that Bruce Arians brings him back on a short term deal that helped him achieve those good passing statistics in the first place.

Likeliness – 1

Potential Fit – C-
