Tua Tagovailoa, QB, Alabama
While Tagovailoa will not be participating in any of the on-field drills during the combine, he will be meeting with teams and doctors so they can get a better look at how he is progressing from his hip injury.
There is a chance that he will be able to throw at Alabama’s pro day before the draft, and Chargers fans should pay close attention to news about him from the combine. The main red flag about Tagovailoa is his injury history.
However, when healthy, he is arguably the top quarterback in this class and is someone who Chargers fans should be paying very close attention to.
Isaiah Simmons, DB/LB, Clemson
Simmons is one of the most exciting prospects this year. He has taken snaps at five different positions this past season for the Clemson Tigers.
As we have seen what Gus Bradley and the Chargers have done with Derwin James, putting Simmons on a defense with young stars like Joey Bosa, James and Desmond King can make this already good defense into an elite one.
He is an athletic freak and an excellent hybrid defender that would have offenses struggle to attack this defense.
