Los Angeles Chargers: Awards for the 2019 season

Top play: Austin Ekeler 84-yard touchdown vs. Jags
The Chargers’ best win of the season came in Week 9 over the Green Bay Packers but the team’s most dominant win was its 35-point blowout victory in Week 14 over the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The highlight of that game (video) came on a third-down play early in the third quarter. Philip Rivers faced a quick blitz right up the middle and just barely got his pass off in time. It landed in the hands of Ekeler who was out in the flat. He made a quick move to the inside and then showed off some serious speed, racing 84 yards for a touchdown.
In this game, Ekeler became the first Chargers player in over three decades to have 100 yards rushing and 100 yards receiving in the same game. A large chunk of that came on this play, which put the Bolts up by a score of 31-3.
There were some other big plays this season that were considered, including Casey Hayward’s incredible interception in Week 2 against the Detroit Lions, but Ekeler’s electric catch and run is the play that stands out above all others.
