Coming off their bye week, the Los Angeles Chargers look to get back on the winning track and also get a measure of revenge against a team that beat them earlier in the season.
The Chargers sit at 4-7 on the season and one more loss will likely terminate any hopes the team has for the playoffs. They pretty much need to win out to have any hope of playing in the postseason.
That quest starts on Sunday against the Denver Broncos. The Broncos are another downtrodden team but one of their three wins this season came against the Chargers, a game in which the Broncos went into Dignity Health Sports Park and beat the Chargers in all phases of the game.
In this game, played at Empower Field at Mile High, the Broncos will be turning to rookie Drew Lock to make his first career start. That is the top storyline heading into this game, but here are some others.
- Von Miller is listed as questionable and it sounds like it is 50/50 as to whether he’ll suit up.
- The Chargers will get Derwin James and Adrian Phillips back from injured reserve for this game and that fact alone might give them the best chance to win.
- Philip Rivers has struggled mightily this season. Should that continue, would the Chargers actually consider benching him? There are reports out there which suggest that they would.
