Chargers: Injuries Continued

Geremy Davis, Wide Receiver – Doubtful (Hamstring)

Talented special teamer and wide receiver Geremy Davis is unlikely to play with a hamstring injury. Hopefully the Chargers’ special teams unit will be able to contain the dangerous Tyreek Hill and Mecole Hardman on returns without Davis.

Cortez Broughton, Defensive Tackle – Out, NFI (Illness)

This week, the Chargers placed Cortez Broughton on the non-football illness list as he recovers from mono. Broughton has had a good start to his career in limited playing time, earning a 64.9 grade from PFF for the year, the Chargers should be fine on the interior of the defensive line, especially with Justin Jones and Brandon Mebane returning from injury.

Roderic Teamer, Safety – Questionable (Groin)

Roderic Teamer completed two full practices to end this week, suggesting that he may be ready to return against the Chiefs. With Jaylen Watkins playing well, it will be interesting to see how Gus Bradley decides to split snaps between Watkins and Teamer.

Regardless, Teamer will have an important role on special teams if he is available, as he will need to help contain elite returners in Hill and Hardman.

Cole Mazza, Long Snapper – Questionable (Illness)

With Cole Mazza questionable, the Chargers signed veteran long snapper Matt Overton as a backup. With a veteran replacement in tow, the Chargers’ special teams unit should not experience any major disruption.

Important Players on IR: Mike Pouncey, Forrest Lamp, Adrian Phillips, Derwin James
