The Los Angeles Chargers got a much-needed victory in Chicago on Sunday. Damion Square and Russell Okung are each being rewarded with a game ball for their efforts.
When Ty Long took the field with just under two minutes to go, the chances of a Chargers victory seemed slim to none. Quarterback Mitchell Trubisky then guided the Bears down the field and put them in a position to win, and it seemed like the Chargers would suffer yet another close loss. Then, Bears kicker Eddy Piñeiro missed a potential game-winning field goal. The team was desperate for a win in any way possible, and they finally had good fortune swing their way on Sunday.
The offense looked stagnant for most of the first half, but a big play from Mike Williams gave them enough of a spark to get the job done. On defense, Joey Bosa continued to dominate as he has all season long. Casey Hayward had another solid game, getting another interception which proved to be huge.
One could write about Bosa every week in a series like this, but Damion Square and Russell Okung really stepped up and played great games as well. They will each be getting this week’s game balls.
