The Chargers suffered a very frustrating loss at home to the Denver Broncos in Week 5. Casey Hayward, Joey Bosa and Uchenna Nwosu all excelled and earned this weeks game balls.

It is safe to say that Sunday’s loss at home against the Denver Broncos was one of the more frustrating games since the Chargers have been in Los Angeles. But, as always, this article is meant to focus on the positive aspects of each game. While the end result was certainly not what Chargers fans would have hoped, there were quite a few players who had great games. The players who will be getting this weeks game balls are Casey Hayward Jr., Joey Bosa and Uchenna Nwosu. All three of them had their best games of the season and showed up in a big way on Sunday even in a loss.

Some honorable mentions: Desmond King, who was a clear standout as he had the team’s only touchdown, Mike Williams, for having his best game of the season, and Michael Schofield who graded out as an elite pass blocker per Pro Football Focus. These players all deserve mention, especially Schofield, who has been much-maligned by Chargers fans but is actually playing the best ball of his career through five games. That being said, the three players mentioned above all made key plays to keep the Chargers in the game and ultimately put together a standout defensive performance.
