Last season, the Los Angeles Chargers dropped a crucial home game to the Denver Broncos that had long-lasting ramifications on the team’s playoff push.

The Chargers now welcome in a winless Broncos team missing defensive star Bradley Chubb. The Broncos and new head coach Vic Fangio are hungry and desperate and looking for their first win of the season. The Chargers are the far superior team on paper, but divisional games are never easy.

Top storylines

  • Melvin Gordon will return to the field for the Chargers. How many touches will he see and how will it affect the role of Austin Ekeler, who has played quite well?
  • The Chargers are dealing with injuries all over the field. Which player will step up out of nowhere to help the team out? Lance Kendricks? Andre Patton?
  • The Chargers will trot out another new kicker as Michael Badgley continues to rest his groin injury. Chase McLaughlin makes his NFL debut for the Chargers.

For the Chargers to avoid the upset, they will have to stay focused and not look past this Broncos team, which is likely better than its winless record. However, the Broncos are a mess. They can’t stop the run and they can’t get pressure on the quarterback. This is a game that the Chargers should win to improve their record to 3-2 on the year.

Next. Chargers don't need to rush Gordon into action

We will be talking about his game and all things Chargers here in this thread, so jump in and chat with fans of the team. We will also have all the post-game coverage you can handle following the game.

Kickoff is set for 1:05 pm PT and the game will be televised on CBS.
