Nothing much to see here in terms of mistakes. Desmond King had a rough go of it returning punts, with a net loss of a yard on his two attempts, but King did have a somewhat strong 23-yard kickoff return.

For the kicking game, Ty Long continued to build his strong case to stay on the roster even when Michael Badgley is able to return. All of Long’s kickoffs resulted in touchbacks, he was able to land two of his four punts inside the 20 and had a punting long on the day of 60 yards.

All of these skills will keep him valuable, as well as a renewed confidence in field goals. Long nailed both of his tries, including a 43-yarder, to help show that last week’s debacle against Detroit was the exception, not the rule.

We said this last week, but it looks like the Money Badger will be back out there next week. If he somehow isn’t, Chargers fans should have strong confidence in Long to fill in admirably.
