Los Angeles Chargers injury report and impact vs. Indianapolis Colts

Offense
- Russell Okung, Left Tackle – Out (Heart Condition)
There is no hiding the impact of this injury; losing Okung is a serious downgrade at left tackle for the Chargers.
Fortunately for backup Trent Scott, he will have an easier matchup than in his first game action, where he immediately allowed a Ndamukong Suh sack in his first snap. Instead, he will be facing another, only slightly less menacing, foe in Justin Houston.
Houston was released this offseason by the Kansas City Chiefs due largely to his injury history and high price tag. However, he is still a very talented edge rusher, recording nine sacks in twelve games last season.
To make up for the struggles Scott may have against this talented edge rusher, expect the Chargers to try to more interior runs and use Virgil Green and other tight ends to help block Houston.
Another excellent way to slow down edge rushers is with screen passes where an overly ambitious rusher can be burned for being aggressive. With Austin Ekeler being an excellent receiving back, expect several designed screens and dump-offs in this game.
- Geremy Davis, Wide Receiver – Doubtful (Hamstring)
Davis is unlikely to play a large role in the offense this year unless there are injuries above him on the depth chart, so his loss is not significantly impactful on offense at this time.
