The NFL regular season is nearly upon us. Here are three keys to a Chargers victory over the Colts in their season opener.

The regular season is finally underway, and the Chargers are a little more than a week away from their first real game of 2019. The starters are back, the roster is nearly set, and the excitement couldn’t be higher.

Though the team went just 1-3 this preseason, many young players stepped up and have carved out roles for themselves this season. Drue Tranquill, in particular, was outstanding, as were players from Anthony Lanier and Chris Peace to Artavis Scott and Cardale Jones. It was certainly fun to watch more depth players and those fighting for a roster spot on the field.

But now the team turns its attention away from third and fourth-string players and shifts all its attention to its main group of starters. Up first are the Indianapolis Colts, who went as far as the Chargers did in the postseason last year. The Colts will undoubtedly be a team to watch in the AFC, regardless of who their quarterback is.

If the Chargers hope to come out of Week One with a victory, they’ll have to do a number of things well. Here are three keys to a win in the regular season opener:
