Los Angeles Chargers 53-man roster projection following final preseason game

Defensive end (4)
Joey Bosa, Melvin Ingram, Isaac Rochell, Chris Peace
Cuts: Anthony Lanier, Reggie Howard, Patrick Afriye, Elijah Zeise, Thomas Costigan
Bosa and Ingram provide perhaps the league’s top pass-rushing duo but one thing the team has needed is a little depth behind them just to spell them from time to time.
Rochell has developed nicely in his short time with the team and Peace, who will edge out Lanier for a roster spot, has had a tremendous summer. He’s pretty much a one-trick pony at this point but he is extremely quick off the edge and could really give another team fits in relief of either Bosa or Ingram.
Lanier could easily beat him out for this spot as he is likely the “safer” option.
Defensive tackle (5)
Jerry Tillery, Justin Jones, Brandon Mebane, Damion Square, T.Y. McGill
Cuts: Cortez Broughton, Dee Liner
Tillery, Mebane and Jones should see the majority of snaps for the defense this year providing all are healthy. Square and McGill will provide the team with some experienced depth and Broughton should be a candidate for the practice squad.
It would have been nice to see him take the job from McGill but he just didn’t quite show enough this summer.
