Los Angeles Chargers 53-man roster projection following final preseason game

Quarterback (3)
Philip Rivers, Tyrod Taylor, Cardale Jones
Cut: Easton Stick
In his 53-man roster projection, ESPN’s Eric D. Williams stated that Jones has outplayed Stick. I completely disagreed until the final preseason game, where Jones put a clear distance between them.
The Chargers have an excellent one-two punch with Rivers and Taylor and because of that, have the ability to keep a young player on the roster due to the fact that barring a major catastrophe, won’t have to play this season.
If it were my decision, I would still keep Stick based on all of that. But Stick wasn’t able to step up when called upon during the preseason, particularly toward the end of the preseason and because of that, he’ll need some time to develop on a practice squad.
Of course for that to happen, the Chargers will need to first waive Stick and then cross their fingers that one of the other 31 teams doesn’t claim him on waivers.
Of course, the team could gain an extra roster spot by keeping just two quarterbacks and releasing both Jones and Stick.
