Power ranking Chargers most important questions during the preseason

4. What does the team have in Easton Stick?
It’s not often that a fifth-round pick presents one of the biggest questions during training camp, but that is the case with Stick.
The former North Dakota State quarterback had a glowing college resume and led his team to a crazy win-loss record. But at the next level, he will have to prove he belongs.
But how exactly will he do that as a rookie?
The Chargers have a legendary quarterback in place in Philip Rivers and one of the league’s best backups in Tyrod Taylor. If the team sees Stick as part of its future, it may have to essentially waste a roster spot in order to keep him around as putting him on the practice squad would leave him open to being taken by another team, as discussed here.
These next four preseason games will be crucial for Stick. The Chargers obviously saw some potential in him when they made the selection, but how far down the road do they see that potential materializing?
The Chargers know what they have in Rivers and Taylor, so look for Stick to get more preseason snaps than any quarterback on the roster as he partakes in something that should be considered nothing short of a long-term audition.
