Roderic Teamer, safety: Teamer made an early impression after joining the team and many see him as a darkhorse candidate to make the team. If the Chargers elect to keep five safeties, he has a good chance.
Should they keep just four, as I predicted, Teamer will become a future prospect on the practice squad and could even get a shot later this season if a player like Rayshawn Jenkins or Jaylen Watkins (should he be retained) struggles.
Tre’Von Johnson, linebacker: Already with his fourth NFL team, Johnson joined the Chargers during the season last year and even got some time on the main roster. He signed a futures deal with the team following the season and is looking to continue his career with the Chargers.
Reggie Howard, defensive tackle: There is just too much depth at defensive tackle for Howard to sift through in order to make the 53-man roster, but he had a strong 2018 season at Toledo and the Chargers might look to get the most out of him while they can.
