The bulk of the NFL free-agency signing period has taken place as teams around the league shift their focus to the upcoming NFL draft. Still, several players are still looking for their next home.

That includes a handful of guys who were on the roster of the Los Angeles Chargers last season. While there is always hope that a team will come looking for a veteran presence later in the summer or the inevitable injury somewhere in the league could open a door, these players are holding onto hope that a team will come calling.

Perhaps that could even be the Chargers.

For most of these guys, it’s not entirely surprising that they are still looking for a contract. In addition, former Chargers linebacker Kyle Emanuel decided to retire.

So which former Chargers are still out there? What are their chances to play again for the Chargers or for that matter, any of the other 31 teams?

Let’s get into that discussion with a look at four former players still looking for work. In addition to the players on this list, punter Donnie Jones is out there as is legendary tight end Antonio Gates, who will almost certainly only be in a Chargers uniform if he ever steps on a football field again.
