Week 15: @ Kansas City Chiefs, Thursday Dec. 13, 5:20 p.m. PST

If Chargers fans believe the Week 13 clash with Pittsburgh will be difficult, than this Thursday night affair with the Kansas City Chiefs could be brutal for the Bolts.

In their first meeting this season in Week 1, the Chiefs were in control from the opening kickoff. The visiting side took down the Chargers 38-28 at the StubHub Center in what was a stellar debut for quarterback Patrick Mahomes. The second-year gunslinger tossed four touchdowns off 256 passing yards, and connected with wide receiver Tyreek Hill seven times for 169 receiving yards and two scores.

This game was a launching pad for Mahomes’ MVP-caliber season. The Texas Tech University grad has 3,628 passing yards to go with 37 passing touchdowns and 10 interceptions for a 117.9 passer rating. Hill has been his most lethal target this season, as the explosive playmaker has 65 catches for 1,106 receiving yards and 11 touchdown grabs. He is averaging 17 yards per catch.

Given that their second clash will be at Arrowhead Stadium, the Chiefs should be a heavy favorite in this AFC West tilt. Moreover, their stranglehold over the Chargers has been extremely tight over the last few seasons.

Since the 2014 season, Kansas City has defeated the Bolts in nine straight meetings, including a 30-13 whooping at Arrowhead last December. The Chargers road woes against the Chiefs has been extensive, as they are 2-6 in Kansas City since the 2010 campaign.

Nothing truly suggests the Bolts will break their skid against the Chiefs on Thursday Night Football in December. A game similar to their meeting at Arrowhead Stadium last season could easily unfold in Week 15.

Prediction: 31-20 Chiefs
