Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota is probably still looking over his shoulder after getting sacked a ridiculous 11 times last week by the Baltimore Ravens. The Chargers should take notes on how the Ravens got there and put just as much pressure on Mariota, as that was the biggest reason the Titans put up a goose egg last week.
The Chargers haven’t been overwhelming in rushing the passer this season, but they have been adaquate. The team was especially good last week as it made life difficult for Baker Mayfield, sacking him five times. Both Corey Liuget and Damion Square were each in on multiple sacks.
And, the Chargers are doing all of this without Joey Bosa, by far their most effective pass rusher.
After the Titans had their worst game of the season in terms of protecting their quarterback and the Chargers had their best game getting after the passer, can those two worlds collide to create a huge defensive opportunity for the Bolts?
If the Chargers can put Mariota under continued duress, the Titans don’t have enough weapons on the offensive side of the ball to combat it.
Look for players like Melvin Ingram and maybe even Isaac Rochell to have a big impact on this game.
