Tight ends

Virgil Green is probably the only tight end on the roster guaranteed a roster spot at this point and he’s not even a receiving tight end by trade.

If the Chargers have only one focus in this game, it should be to find out what they have in the other tight ends on the roster. All of them should be placed under the microscope for this game.

Sean Culkin, Braedon Bowman, Cole Hunt and Ben Johnson, at least one of you guys needs to make some plays in this game as a receiver.

Culkin caught two passes last week and those were the only receptions made by a tight end. If there isn’t any progress in this department, Tom Telesco must absolutely look around the league to see what options exist.

Quite frankly, there’s probably several better options on the street.

That being said, the Seahawks gave up just two receptions to tight ends last week against the Indianapolis Colts.

Many fans and analysts expect Mike Williams to be the team’s big target in the red zone this year and that could work and help take away some pressure off of the tight end position but still, the team needs a reliable option in the passing game from that position.

It’s time one of these players steps up and starts to show they can be that tonight.
