Week 17 at Denver

The Chargers wrap up the regular season in Denver and though this is a divisional game, it may mean different things to each team at this particular juncture of the season.

For instance, if the Chargers have the division title wrapped up sitting at 11-4 going into this game, how hard do they go at the Broncos here? Though it’s always nice to deal a divisional rivalry a defeat, it’s far more important to get into the postseason as healthy as possible.

But this isn’t last year’s Broncos.

More from Bolt Beat

Denver went 5-11 last season and put up minimal effort in getting shut out by the Chargers last October. But since then, John Elway has done a solid job rebuilding the team, signing Case Keenum to be the team’s quarterback while drafting Bradley Chubb in the first round.

Having to deal with the likes of Chubb, Von Miller, Shane Ray and Shaq Barrett is going to be a challenge for any team the Broncos face this season and with the game being in Denver, the Broncos will be looking to close the season on a high note.

The Chargers haven’t swept the season series against Denver since the 2010 season and that’s a streak that won’t end here.

Prediction: Broncos 23, Chargers 17

Prediction for Weeks 13-17: 2-3

Final Record prediction: 11-5

Despite losing to Denver in the season finale, the Chargers still win the AFC West title and qualify for the playoffs for the first time since the 2013 season. Chargers fans will take that, right?
