The Los Angeles Chargers will arrive in Costa Mesa in just over two weeks for the beginning of training camp. Rookies will be required to report even earlier.
Camp opens for the Bolts in July 28 and the team will begin work on figuring out how to take the positives of last season and turn them into a couple more wins and a playoff spot. It’s a crusade te the team hopes will end in Atlanta, the site of Super Bowl LIII.
Of course, that is the hope of every team in the league, but this year, the Chargers are going to be picked to win the AFC West division by many and as such, be a contender in the postseason.
General manager Tom Telesco has done a fantastic job of providing second-year head coach Anthony Lynn with difference makers on either side of the ball.
The Chargers are deep at many of the positions on the team and as a result, should field one of the strongest lineups in the league. Of course, the injury bug seems to enjoy its stay around the team and tight end Hunter Henry has already been lost for the year.
However, if the team can find a way to stay healthy throughout the season, it has a great shot to make a deep run. The Chargers haven’t won the division since 2009 and haven’t made the playoffs since 2013.
But about that roster, here is a look at the team’s projected starting lineup heading to training camp.
