The first round of the 2018 NFL draft was filled with excitement and action as five quarterbacks were drafted within the first 32 picks. As we enter day two, the Los Angeles Chargers have their next two picks at No. 48 and No. 84.

After selecting safety Derwin James in the first round, it seems the Chargers got one of the best value picks of the entire first round. After letting Tre Boston walk this offseason, it seemed the Chargers could use an upgrade at the safety position despite re-signing Adrian Phillips and bringing in Jaylen Watkins.

Tom Telesco may have targeted a safety in the draft, but probably didn’t expect James to be sitting on the board at No. 17. He wasted no time picking him when he was.

So, with safety out of the way, what are the Chargers looking for now?

The team still needs to find a way to bolster the run defense whether that be with a run-stuffing defensive tackle, another inside linebacker, or both. There are still plenty of solid options on the board. So with those two positions in mind, here are six players the Chargers could be looking at on Friday in the second and third round of the draft.
