The Los Angeles Chargers are heading to Jacksonville to take on a Jaguars’ team that finally took hold of its true potential. Led by Melvin Ingram and a young pack of defenders, the Bolts look to slow down Leonard Fournette.
Although the Chargers are faced with one of their toughest opponents of the season, I’ve predicted four stats set to come to life on Sunday. Predictions total on the year: 4-28.
Prediction One: Bolts’ defense sacks Blake Bortles 5+ times
It’s been the trend this year to pick the dynamic duo of Ingram and Joey Bosa to wreck havoc for opposing quarterbacks. Nothing should change this week.
The seemingly stout Jaguars’ offensive line has only allowed defenders to bring down Blake Bortles a combined 11 times this season.
Nonetheless, the only dominant defensive front the Jags have played all year was the other team from Los Angeles.
That’s right, the Rams are the bone-crushing defensive front punishing rival gunslingers, and Bortles was one of the many who’ve been bullied.
Aaron Donald and company sacked Bortles five times.
With Ingram and Bosa fresh off a bye week, I have a hard time believing they don’t have a couple tricks up their sleeves to shake up the game.
The two versatile pass rushers have a combined 17 sacks in 2017. Although the Jags have a solid offensive line, Chargers fans should be confident in two of their best players to accomplish the double-digit sack milestone on Sunday.
